Plein-air Sketching in Polish Hill

June 25, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Reservations required by June 20: marylu@phlf.org; 412-471-5808, ext. 527

Space is limited

$20 PHLF members; $45 non-members (includes a snack)

Here’s your chance to become an artist and explorer! We’ll begin with a tour of Immaculate Heart of Mary, the landmark church in Polish Hill that can be seen for miles. Centered on a domed space 98-feet-high inside, the church of 1904 has the most Baroque silhouette of any in Allegheny County. Artist Victor Beltran will then lead us on a neighborhood walk and show us how to sketch and record our observations at various points of interest. We’ll stop for a snack along the way and visit a business or two.

The walk will be strenuous––after all, we’ll be in Polish Hill––but the pace will not be fast.
Please bring your own sketchbook and pencils, pens, or markers. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
On-street parking or ride the bus.
