Sunday, July 28, 2019
1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Dr. Elisabeth Roark, a professor of art history and museum studies at Chatham University, will lead a walking tour of the Woodland Road campus in Shadyside, especially created to celebrate Chatham’s 150th anniversary. The tour will begin with an illustrated lecture in Beckwith Auditorium in Buhl Hall. Participants will then explore the campus that began in 1869 in a mansion, built an academic complex on a high knoll, and then absorbed other mansions in the area. Participants will enjoy lemonade and cookies in the Mellon Board Room, see the Mellon Carriage House, walk through the Athletic & Fitness Center, and end at the Art and Design Center (formerly a gymnasium).
Fee: $10 for PHLF members and Chatham University alumni; $20 for non-members.
Registration is limited to 30 people and advance paid reservations are required: marylu@phlf.org or 412-471-5808, ext. 527. Paid reservations by Tuesday, July 23, 2019
