Automobile Row Walking Tour (Baum Boulevard)

September 15, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Sunday, September 15, 2019
4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Discover the fascinating history hidden in plain sight along an unlovely stretch of road in Pittsburgh’s East End. You’ll hear about Pittsburgh’s role in automotive history, from its earliest days as Motor City to the development of the self-driving cars, and its role in the petroleum industry and the corresponding development of a car culture. The Lincoln Highway, symbolizing emancipation and adventure and providing a prototype for roadside commercial design, and Luna Park will complete the story that our docent will tell as you explore the Bloomfield/Friendship area.
