6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Drywall Basics Series (1 of 2)
October 17, 2013 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Drywall covers more walls and ceilings than any other material in remodeling and construction today. For the DIYer about to embark on an interior renovation project, drywall will most certainly be needed. In this active, hands-on workshop, students will learn how to accurately estimate drywall material and how to properly install (hang) and finish (tape) drywall.
The Landmarks Preservation Resource Center, in a partnership with DIY Pittsburgh, will offer a Drywall Workshop Series. Session 1 will be the introduction to drywall. Students will learn about the tools and materials used in drywall installation. Students will also complete a sample activity on estimating drywall. Topics include:
- Types and Uses of Drywall
- Planning the Job and Estimating Material
- Tools for Hanging Drywall
- Tools for Taping and Sanding Drywall
This lecture is free and open to the public.
