10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Drywall Series (2 of 2)
October 19, 2013 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
FREEDrywall covers more walls and ceilings than any other material in remodeling and construction today. For the DIYer about to embark on an interior renovation project, drywall will most certainly be needed. In this active, hands-on workshop, students will learn how to accurately estimate drywall material and how to properly install (hang) and finish (tape) drywall.
The Landmarks Preservation Resource Center, in a partnership with DIY Pittsburgh, will offer a Drywall Workshop Series. The second session will focus on the installation of drywall. Students will get hands-on experience learning how to hang and tape drywall. Topics include:
- Understanding the importance of framing in drywall installation
- Measuring and Cutting Drywall
- How to Hang Drywall
- Outside corners
- Finishing drywall (mud and tape basics)
This lecture is free and open to the public.
