“Building Buddies” at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh
April 9, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Pick up a giant puzzle piece, put it in place on a 12-foot-long vinyl map, and help “build” the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. In the process, young children and their parents will learn about each of the four buildings that comprise the Children’s Museum campus, the largest cultural campus for children in the nation! “Building Buddies” reminds us that the buildings that make up a museum are one of the most important “exhibits,” well worth noticing and exploring. Participants will understand that the four Children’s Museum buildings have different styles, colors, shapes, details, and ages. It’s the differences that make each building stand out––and that concept applies to people, too. It’s the differences that make each one of us special and worth treasuring. Participants will also be able to draw themselves and their “buddies” and add the artwork to the vinyl puzzle. Parents will be given a photo scavenger hunt for their families to complete whenever they like, as they continue to explore the Children’s Museum campus, both inside and out.
