Lecture: The Hills of Pittsburgh

November 7, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Mark Houser
Pittsburgh Magazine Columnist

Thursday, November 7
6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Landmarks Preservation Resource Center
744 Rebecca Avenue, Wilkinsburg, PA 15221

Eons of erosion gave the city its signature bumpy topography, and each of Pittsburgh’s ridges and promontories has a story to tell. From Coal Hill that changed its name to “the Hill” that needs no name, to from hidden-in-plain-sight Monument Hill to mostly-obliterated Grant’s Hill, discover fascinating hilltop tales rescued from the forgotten pages of our region’s history.

About the presenter: Mark Houser is a frequent Pittsburgh Magazine contributor who writes and speaks about the Pittsburgh’s history. You can find more stories at his website, HouserTalks.com.

This lecture is FREE to the public. RSVPs are appreciated: marylu@phlf.org or 412-471-5808 ext, 527.
