The slender tower of the Allegheny County Courthouse is no longer the tallest building in Pittsburgh—but the Courthouse and Jail designed by Henry Hobson Richardson continue to be our most famous architectural landmarks. The U.S. government has designated Richardson’s Courthouse and Jail a National Historic Landmark. These buildings are important in the history of our nation.
