Garfield on the Go Walking Tour

There’s an energy and “eye-appeal” along Penn Avenue in Garfield that’s captivating! Join staff members from the Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation and Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation for a late afternoon walk in the city’s Garfield neighborhood. Explore the eclectic business district, rooted in the arts and supportive of a diverse range of businesses and nonprofits, including Level Up Studios, Silver Eye Photography, Assemble, The Alloy Studios, Pittsburgh Glass Center, Boom Concepts, and more. You’ll also see public art, including “The Bride of Penn Avenue” mural, and sample some tasty food. The Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation, in partnership with the Urban Redevelopment Authority, has had great success in developing and implementing revitalization strategies in consultation with community groups, residents, businesses, and government officials.

Registration is limited to 30 people.
Please note: Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour time. The walk is on relatively flat land, with a slight incline from time to time. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Before the tour begins, each participant will be asked to sign his/her name on a form indicating that he/she is “fully able to participate in this PHLF tour and assumes all risk of participation.” This tour is handicap accessible, although we appreciate knowing your needs 48 hours in advance.
